Kopi kade launched a new menu in June featuring high end French patisserie items and recreations of nostalgic childhood favourites. New savoury items on the menu include gourmet mini sausage rolls and rustic open pies. House made flaky, shortcrust, pure butter pastry is a feature on both.
The new menu of toasted sandwiches are a cross between the humble jaffle and the posh croque monsieur, flavoured with renditions of Sri Lankan curries. Mutton curry with Italian Parmesan is a crowd favourite and the shiitake mushroom and eggplant moju with Cheddar and Emmental has won over even the non-vegetarians.
The new additions to the sweets menu include a dark chocolate ganache tart, a delicate vanilla bean custard tart and a tangy narang meringue pie topped with Italian meringue. House made pâte sablée – crumbly, sweet short crust pastry – is a highlight of these desserts. All items are available by the slice and pre-orders are also taken for whole tarts and pies.
